Website Audit

Find Out Exactly Why Your Site Is Not Ranking.

A full SEO audit of your website: every page crawled, Search Console and Analytics reviewed, speed tested, competitors compared. You get one report with every problem found, how serious it is, and a plan that says what to fix first.

The checklist

What the Audit Covers

Not a plugin score out of 100. I work from the same checklist on every site, so nothing gets forgotten because it was not obvious on the day. Every item is checked on desktop and on mobile, and anything that fails goes straight onto the fix list.

Master website audit checklist with six colour-coded sections: site basics, SEO content, accessibility, technical SEO, design and UX, and conversion, each with desktop and mobile checkboxes
The 60-point checklist every site goes through, on desktop and mobile.

How it is tracked

Every Check Written Down

The checklist is a live sheet, not a memory exercise. Each item is marked done or not done as I go, with a note saying exactly what was found: how many pages, which URLs, what the number was.

You get the sheet with the report, so you can see every check that was run, not just the ones that failed.

  • Done, not done and a note on every single item
  • Separate tabs for site audit, local audit, keyword research and site data
  • Numbers attached to every failure, not vague wording
  • Re-run after the fixes, so you can see the sheet turn green
The deliverable

A Plan, Not a 90-Page PDF

Most audits hand you a long export and leave you to work out what matters. Mine gives you an ordered list: what to fix first, how hard it is, what it should achieve and when to do it. Quick wins at the top, because some of the biggest problems take an hour to fix and change everything.

  • Every issue ranked by impact against effort, not by chapter
  • Severity, effort and expected result on each line
  • A realistic timeline: week 1, week 2, month 2, rather than “do all 86 things”
  • Plain English, no jargon you have to look up
  • Optional: I do the work, or your developer works straight from the plan
Competitors

Measured Against the Sites Beating You

A score on its own means nothing. What matters is where you stand against the three or four sites that take the rankings you want, and exactly how big each gap is.

  • Health score, indexed pages and keywords ranking, side by side
  • Referring domains: how many they have and how many you have
  • Mobile load time against theirs
  • The content and keywords they cover that you do not
  • Every gap written as a number, so you know what it will take to close it
Local businesses

A Separate Sheet for Local SEO

If customers find you on a map, the website audit is only half the job. Your Google Business Profile, reviews, citations and location pages get their own tab and their own checklist.

  • Google Business Profile: categories, services, photos, posts, questions
  • Reviews: count against competitors, rating, replies and how you ask for them
  • Citations: name, address and phone identical everywhere, duplicates removed
  • Location pages, local keywords and local schema on the website
  • Map pack position measured across your whole service area

FAQ

Website Audit Questions, Answered

What is a website SEO audit?

It is a full check of everything on your site that affects how it performs in search: technical setup, indexing, on-page content, site speed, backlinks and analytics. The result is a list of what is wrong, how serious each problem is, and what to do about it, in order.

How long does the audit take?

Usually 3 to 5 days for a normal business site. Large e-commerce sites with thousands of URLs can take a week or more, mostly because of the crawl and the competitor analysis.

What do you need from me?

Read-only access to Google Search Console and Google Analytics, and your website URL. That is enough to start. If you want me to fix things afterwards, I will also need access to your CMS.

Will you change anything on my site?

No. The audit is read-only, nothing is touched. Fixes happen afterwards, only if you want them and only with your approval.

Can my own developer do the fixes?

Yes. The action plan is written so a developer can work straight from it. Many clients do the technical items in-house and have me handle the SEO-specific work.

How is this different from a free online SEO checker?

Automated tools give a score and a generic list. They cannot tell you which of your pages compete with each other, why Google refuses to index a section, or what your competitors are doing that you are not. That judgement is the part that matters.
