Squarespace SEO Services That Bring In Bookings.
I optimize Squarespace sites so Google can crawl, understand and rank them. SEO title formats, search engine descriptions, URL slugs, image compression, schema and content, all done inside your own Squarespace dashboard, no rebuild and no migration.

A Beautiful Site Is Not an Optimized One
Squarespace templates look stunning out of the box, and that is exactly why so many owners stop there. The site goes live, everyone says it looks great, and nobody opens the SEO panel. Months later there is still no traffic from Google.
Squarespace gives you real SEO controls. They are just tucked away in page settings and site settings, and switched off by default. Squarespace SEO means going through each one:
- Relevance: a unique SEO title and search engine description for every page, not the template default
- Crawlability: clean URL slugs, 301 redirects through URL Mappings, and Not Linked pages kept out of search
- Page experience: compressed gallery images and lighter sections so mobile pages load fast
- Authority and trust: schema markup, a real blog, Google Business Profile and quality links
Fixed properly, a Squarespace site holds its own against any competitor in the same niche.

Signs Your Squarespace Site Is Not Ranking
- The default SEO title format left on every page, so each one reads Page — Site Name
- Search engine descriptions left blank, so Google writes your snippet for you
- Leftover URL slugs like /services-1-copy or /untitled from building the site
- Full-resolution gallery and banner images uploaded straight from the camera
- Index pages and Not Linked pages getting indexed as thin duplicate content
- No alt text, because image filenames were used instead of real descriptions
- Heavy parallax sections, custom fonts and background video killing mobile speed
- No structured data, so no rich results and no business info in search
- Old URLs returning 404 after a redesign, with no URL Mappings set
- A blog with three posts from two years ago, targeting nothing in particular
Squarespace image and speed cleanup, and the mobile scores it produced.

Squarespace-Specific, Not Generic SEO
Squarespace has its own rules: fixed URL folders, limited plugin options, image handling you do not control and schema that has to go in through code injection. I know where the real limits are and where there is room to work, so nothing gets broken and nothing gets missed.
- Work done inside your Squarespace editor, no migration needed
- Every page SEO panel filled in properly, not left on defaults
- Safe code injection for schema and tracking
- White-hat SEO only, following Google guidelines
- Clear monthly reports on rankings, visits and enquiries
Who This Is For
- Photographers, designers and creative studios whose portfolio site gets no enquiries
- Coaches, therapists and consultants who rely on referrals and want search traffic too
- Restaurants, salons, studios and venues that need to show up in local search
- Squarespace shops selling products that never appear in Google
- Owners who paid for a beautiful Squarespace site and got no SEO with it
- Sites that lost rankings after a redesign or a move to Squarespace
Squarespace SEO Questions, Answered
Is Squarespace good for SEO?
Yes, for most small business and portfolio sites. It handles SSL, mobile layout, sitemaps and clean markup automatically, and gives you control of SEO titles, descriptions, slugs and redirects. The usual problem is that those settings were never filled in, not the platform itself.
Where are the SEO settings in Squarespace?
Each page has its own SEO panel under page settings, holding the SEO title, search engine description and URL slug. Site-wide settings for the SEO title format, Google Search Console and sitemap sit under Marketing and Settings. Schema goes in through code injection.
Can I add schema markup to Squarespace?
Yes. Squarespace adds some structured data on its own, but for LocalBusiness, Service, FAQ or Review schema I add JSON-LD through code injection, either site-wide or on the specific pages that need it.
Why is my Squarespace site slow on mobile?
Almost always images. Full-resolution photos in galleries and banners are the usual cause, followed by background video, parallax sections and too many custom fonts. Resizing and compressing images alone usually makes the biggest difference.
How long does Squarespace SEO take to show results?
Title, description and slug fixes can show in Search Console within a few weeks. Real ranking and enquiry growth usually builds over three to six months, depending on your competition and how much content work is needed.
Do you work on other platforms too?
Yes. I also offer WordPress SEO, Wix SEO and Shopify SEO, plus marketplace SEO for Amazon and Etsy sellers.
