Get Your Business Named in AI Answers.
Search “cleaning service” on Google today and the first thing you see is an AI Overview that names three companies and links two sources. Ask ChatGPT and it lists businesses with their phone numbers. I get your business into those answers: Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot.

Ranking #1 Is Not Enough Anymore
When an AI answer sits on top of the results, people click the normal links far less. The visits now go to the businesses named and cited inside the answer.

Ahrefs · Mar 2026AI Assistants Now Recommend Businesses By Name
Ask ChatGPT for a cleaning company in New York and it does not show ten blue links. It gives a short list of named businesses with a rating, the services they offer, a phone number and an address.
Every one of those details was pulled from the web: the company website, its Google Business Profile, directories and review sites. When those sources are clear and consistent, the assistant can recommend you with confidence. When they are vague or contradict each other, it picks someone else.
- Named in the shortlist, not lost in general advice
- Your phone, address and services shown correctly
- Your website attached as the source

How AI Search Picks Its Sources
This is what happens between someone typing a question and a business appearing in the answer, and what each step means for your pages.
One question becomes many searches
The system rewrites the question into several hidden searches. “Cleaning service” may become home deep cleaning price, sofa cleaning, bathroom cleaning and booking by WhatsApp. This is called query fan-out.
It fetches pages and reads them live
For each hidden search it pulls a shortlist of pages, often ones already ranking, and reads the raw HTML. If an AI crawler is blocked, or your prices sit inside an image, the page is blank to it.
It extracts passages, not pages
The model splits each page into small chunks and scores each chunk on its own. One paragraph of your page gets quoted, not the whole page. A plain two-sentence answer under a clear heading beats a long guide that hides the answer.
It checks who you are
Before naming a business, the system checks your website, schema markup, Google Business Profile, directories and reviews. A business described four different ways in four places looks uncertain and gets left out.
It writes the answer and adds credit
The best passages are combined into one answer and each claim links back to its source. You get cited because one sentence of yours was the cleanest answer to one specific question.

AI Visibility Can Be Tracked
SEO tools now report how often a brand is mentioned and how many of its pages are cited in ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode and Gemini. That means AI search optimization is measured work, not guesswork.
I track your mentions and citations before I start, then report the same numbers every month so you can see what changed.
- Mentions per assistant
- Cited pages and which content earns them
- Competitors named for the same questions
Signs AI Search Is Leaving You Out
- Competitors get named when customers ask AI about your service
- Answers buried under long introductions and brand story
- No prices, numbers or specifics a model can quote
- No FAQ, Service, Organization or Review schema
- Business name, address and services differ across your site, Google profile and directories
- AI crawlers blocked in robots.txt by accident
- Prices and key facts locked in images or PDFs
- AI describing your prices or service area wrongly

AI Search Questions, Answered
What is AI search optimization?
It is the work of getting your business named and cited inside AI-generated answers, not only ranked in a list of links. It covers Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot, and combines content structure, schema, consistent business details and AI crawler access.
What is the difference between SEO, AEO and GEO?
SEO ranks pages in search results. AEO, answer engine optimization, makes your content the source an assistant uses for its answer. GEO, generative engine optimization, is the same idea focused on generative AI systems. The work overlaps, and good AI optimization usually improves classic SEO too.
Does traditional SEO still matter?
Yes. Assistants still fetch pages that search engines can find and trust, so SEO is the entry ticket. Ranking alone no longer guarantees a citation, so AI optimization is added on top of it.
Can you guarantee my business will appear in ChatGPT?
No. These systems change often and answers vary. What I can do is measure where you stand, make the changes that make citations more likely, and show you the movement with the same prompt set every month.
How do you measure AI visibility?
I run a fixed set of real customer questions, usually 80 to 150 prompts, across each assistant. For every answer I record whether you were named, whether you were linked as a source, and which competitors appeared.
Should I block AI bots from my site?
Usually not, if you want to appear in AI answers. Blocking GPTBot or PerplexityBot keeps you out of those answers. Publishers protecting paid content may choose to block, and I will explain the trade-off for your site.
How long does it take to see results?
Perplexity and ChatGPT search can reflect new content within days or weeks. Google AI Overviews usually take a few months, similar to normal SEO.
