Link Building

Earn Links That Actually Move Rankings.

Backlinks are still one of the strongest ranking signals Google has. But only real ones count. I earn links from sites that exist, have readers and belong in your industry — and I will tell you honestly which ones are worth going after and which would do more harm than good.

Why it matters

Why Links Still Decide Who Ranks

You can write the best page on the subject and still sit on page three. Links are how Google works out whether anyone outside your own website agrees that you are worth reading.

01

They are the vote of confidence

Content tells Google what your page is about. Links tell it whether that page deserves to be trusted ahead of everyone else saying the same thing.

02

Without them you hit a ceiling

On low-competition terms good content is enough. On anything commercial, every page already ranking has links behind it. That is the gap you are closing.

03

Authority lifts your whole site

Links to one strong page raise what the rest of the site can rank for. It is the slowest compounding asset in SEO and the hardest to copy.

04

Good links send real visitors

A mention in a trade publication brings people who were already looking, not just a signal in an algorithm. Those visitors convert.

05

Bad links actively hurt

Networks, paid placements and directory farms are the fastest way to lose rankings you already had. Cheap links are expensive later.

06

Competitors cannot undo them

They can copy your page, your design and your offer in a week. They cannot copy ten years of other people choosing to cite you.

Link quality

Not All Links Are Worth Having

Google has spent twenty years learning to tell these two apart, and it is not close. Ten links of the first kind will do more than a thousand of the second — and the second kind is what you get when someone sells you a package.

The deliverable

Every Link, And How It Was Earned

You get the list. Every link with the site, its authority, its real traffic, what kind of placement it is and exactly how it came about — plus the offers I turned down, and why.

How links get earned

What I Actually Do

No link farms, no private networks, no “500 backlinks for $50”. These are the methods that produce links a real editor agreed to.

01

Digital PR

Original data, local stories and expert comment offered to journalists who are already writing about your industry.

02

Guest articles

Real articles for real publications in your field, written to be read, with a contextual link where it belongs.

03

Resource and citation links

Getting your pages listed where people are already collecting useful sources — associations, universities, local government.

04

Broken link recovery

Finding dead pages others still link to, and offering your page as the working replacement.

05

Unlinked mentions

Your business already gets named without a link. Asking turns those into links, and it works more often than anything else.

06

Content built to be cited

Data, calculators, guides and original photography — the kind of page writers link to because they need it, not because you asked.

Link gap

Start With Who Already Links To Your Competitors

Someone has already done the hard part of finding out which sites in your industry link out at all. If a site links to two or three of your competitors and not to you, it is the most realistic link on the list — and usually the fastest.

The problem

The Links That Are Holding You Back

Before building anything new, it is worth knowing what is already pointing at you. Most sites that have ever hired a cheap SEO are carrying a few hundred links they would be better off without.

Warning signs

Signs Your Link Profile Is A Problem

  • Rankings dropped and nothing on the site changed
  • A previous agency delivered hundreds of links in weeks
  • Most of your links come from sites with no traffic at all

  • Links from gambling, pharma or loan sites you never contacted
  • A manual action notice sitting in Search Console
  • Hundreds of links from a handful of IP addresses
  • Links only from footers, sidebars and comment sections
  • A profile that grew by 400 links in one month, then stopped
  • No links at all from anyone in your actual industry
  • Competitors with weaker content consistently outranking you

FAQ

Link Building Questions, Answered

What is link building?

Earning links from other websites to yours. Google treats a link as a signal that someone else found your page worth sending people to, and it is still one of the strongest factors in how pages are ranked. Link building is the work of making that happen deliberately rather than waiting.

How many links do I need?

There is no number. What matters is how your profile compares to the pages currently ranking for the terms you want. Sometimes that is ten good links, sometimes it is a hundred. I check what is actually ranking before committing to anything.

Can I just buy backlinks?

You can, and it is against Google’s guidelines. Bought links come from sites that exist only to sell them, which is a pattern Google detects easily. It can work briefly, then cost you the rankings you had. I do not build links that way.

How long until links affect rankings?

Usually four to twelve weeks before a link shows its effect, and the full benefit builds over months. Anyone promising movement in a fortnight is either lucky or using methods that will cost you later.

What is a disavow file and do I need one?

It is a list you give Google of links you want ignored. You only need it if your profile has real spam in it — networks, farms, bought links. Used carelessly it does more harm than good, so it is a decision taken after an audit, not by default.

Do nofollow links have any value?

Yes, just not in the direct way follow links do. Google treats them as a hint rather than ignoring them. More importantly, nofollow links from places like Reddit, Wikipedia or big publications send real visitors and real brand signals, and a profile made only of follow links looks unnatural.

What do I actually receive each month?

A report with every link earned that month — the live URL, the site, its authority and traffic, the anchor text and how it was earned — plus links lost, the total profile, and what moved in rankings. Every line is something you can click and check yourself.
